Back when Allen Seigler II was a young boy, his dad worked for a national coffee service.  Later on his dad started his own company, so Allen grew up riding with him on his routes as his "little helper" delivering coffee and supplies.  Allen always loved helping him and talking with all the people as his dad delivered coffee & supplies.  Allen used to love going into the warehouse and smelling the great aroma of the coffee.  He thought possibly he would eventually expand or take over his father's business, be his dad passed away before that could happen.  Allen's step-mother took over his dad's business, so Allen eventually started his own coffee business and continued the family tradition.
Allen wanted his coffee business to offer premium coffee, tea, all top of the line products and be more than just a coffee service offering commercial brands like Maxwell House, Folgers, etc.
Oliver's Coffee Company created "premium" blends made from only fresh roasted, 100% Arabica beans.  With many hours of taste testing ("cupping"), Allen came up with Oliver's Premium blends.  Since then, more blends and flavors have been developed as the new customer demands were met.
Many people in Augusta, Georgia had become familiar with Bob Pratt as "the coffee guy" so it was an easy fit for him to wind up calling his business "The Coffee Guy!"
Bob created "The Coffee Guy" to help local eating places and businesses serve unique, wonderful tasting, hot or cold drinks to their guests.  He built a successful business based on his love for quality products and his personal focus on excellent service.
In 2007, Bob was unfortunately diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and set out to find someone to purchase his business and carry on the service he had built.  In 2008, The Coffee Guy merged with Oliver's Coffee Company to offer a large selection of  gourmet coffee and espresso products, as well as increasing Oliver's total customer base.
Bob passed away in August of 2009 and will always be affectionately remembered for is individual passion for his own business, his desire to help others succeed, and the love he had for his family.  He will be greatly missed.
